Kathy’s joy as an artist is to reveal the life and positive energy in all things.
Art has always defined who she is. Her mother is a painter, her father created mid-century modern furniture in his spare time. At fifteen she was awarded a summer class at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Her degree in graphic communication from San Diego State University was preceded by five years’ private study in oil painting.
Kathy credits working as an art director for one of the largest ad agencies in the world for a priceless education in the process of creating art in many forms. Working with top filmmakers, illustrators and photographers taught her patience and how to spot precisely when the work “worked”.
Her work is part of collections across the United States. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows in the Sacramento area, as well as in an eight-page article in International Artist Magazine and most recently as an award recipient in Southwest Art Magazine. Fellow artists in her Northern California community are a constant source of inspiration.
